Chongqing Hechuan Power Plant, as an important thermal power generation base in Southwest China, has long faced the technical challenge of severe wear on pulverized coal exhauster fan impellers in its pulverizing system. During the scheduled shutdown maintenance in early 2020, two pulverized coal exhausters, model M5-36-11NO18.5D, were found to have severe wear at the blade inlets and the connection areas of the rear disk. Anti-wear measures were required for both the impellers and blades.

Titan-Shield Technology technicians conducted a comprehensive inspection of the pulverized coal exhauster fan impeller blades. The impellers were then subjected to anti-wear treatment using welded ceramic technology. Considering the blade material properties, silicon carbide ceramics were selected for the wear-resistant blade treatment.
