Anti-Wear Retrofit of Wear-Resistant Castable Lining for Blast Furnace Sinter Ore Bunker at Baogang Ironmaking Plant

[Project Overview]

This project is a wear-resistant technical retrofit project for the blast furnace sinter ore bunkers at the Ironmaking Plant of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare Earth Steel Plate Co., Ltd. The project involves comprehensive wear-resistant lining repair construction for eight sinter ore bunkers in the plant that have been in service for over a decade. The bunker bodies have long been subjected to continuous high-speed impact, friction, and scouring by sintered ore. The straight sections, conical sections, and discharge outlets have experienced extensive wear and spalling of the cementitious base layer, with embedded bolts exposed, leading to material leakage, equipment damage, and safety hazards. This systematic anti-wear retrofit was carried out during the annual blast furnace overhaul window period.

[Construction Site Work]

The professional construction team strictly complied with the safety management regulations of the Baogang plant and conducted safety briefings for confined space operations. Full scaffolding was erected at the construction site. The damaged substrate surfaces inside the bunkers were first ground, cleaned, and leveled for inspection and acceptance. Subsequently, high-strength wear-resistant ceramic material was properly mixed, and additional thickness was applied by pouring and vibration compaction in high-wear areas such as the discharge outlet and bunker conical sections, ensuring a dense and void-free lining.
